thats me!

Born & raised in the great Buckeye State of Ohio – and now nestled in the beautiful Queen City in Charlotte, NC.

You might be asking, “How did DEMENTIA become her life?!
Isn’t dementia for older people?” Well, not quite.. and at the tender age of 6 years old, I was introduced to Alzheimer’s disease
as I watched it take a toll on my Great Grandma Trollie and my entire family.
[check out my first blog to hear the full story]

Decades later, as a millennial, I’ve found myself organically in the midst of the dementia world collaborating with families – and I refuse to look back! It’s not just a job for me – It’s my passion. My calling.

So just think of me as your personal Dementia Guru: AKA – Mentor – Guide – Teacher.

EXPERIENCE

For the past
14+ years I have worked in the field of aging..

I hold a Bachelors of Science in Gerontology (the study of aging) from Bowling Green State University. I received my Masters degree in Social Work from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My graduate certification in Gerontology is focused
on dementia care practices, aging, & global research.
I also hold a clinical license in Social Work.

I’ve found great joy in marrying my gerontology degree with my social work degree to help families better understand the disease and it’s endless maze. This practice is known as gerontological social work.

Additionally, my Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DEI) certification was obtained through the University of South Florida. As a woman of color, I practice from a diverse Black lens. This lens adds a unique perspective to my business acumen.

Praise for Ashley

Hear What Our Dementia Warriors & Aging Advocates Have to Say:

When I was in the midst of moving my mother to a memory care facility, Ashley listened to me on a deeper level than anyone else. Because of Ashley’s listening skills & experience, my actions and mom’s subsequent move was better, richer, & more intentional than if I had relied on my own decisions & impulses.

Kathy G.
